I got a new Job!
So I mentioned a few days ago that I would soon have a lot more time to knit on my commute. And this new job is why. My new job will be doing about the same thing, for about the same money, but for a company that I think will be a much better match for my personality and work ethics. The new job is much further away from home - in Evanston. I will be taking the train every day for about 50 min — perfect for getting some knitting done! I will also have a bit longer walk once I get off the train which I will provide some much needed exercise and exposure to sunshine.

Woo hoo
Conga-rats on the new job.
I’d love one that would fit my work ethic and/or ethics, whichever.
So, now you’ll be another Subway Knitter (okay, Metra kntiter, but the difference is inconsequential). I enjoyed my Metra ride — I knit an entire dress for a four year old … on size twos!
I’ve done some of my best knitting on the metra, my first cable scarf which I was SO proud of, and Rowan’s Baby blanket (crocheted actually).
Some of the great things about this job is that it puts me less than a mile walk from two different knitting shops, it gives me plenty of time to knit, and once I get settled in, they won’t mind me taking off occasionally to indulge in my hobbies. They are WELL aware of how much “outside of work” life I have.
BTW - I am testing a new comment thingie on the blog. Can you let me know if you get this?
Hey congrats! A train commute can be so much more relaxing that driving! And of course, there’s the knitting time!
Well for me its Metra train vs. City Bus. The Metra is pretty lux compared to the bus. And I have about 4 times as much knitting time. Whee!
Thanks for the comment!
